Manager of Software Quality Assurance and Operations

axialHealthcare is seeking an experienced Manager of Software Quality Assurance and Operations to focus on quality assurance testing, deployment, operations and support of axial’s software solutions. The candidate should have a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, devops principles, and have a hands-on background of designing, implementing, and running testing, deployment, and operational processes that ensure the highest quality products. You will need to be a self-starter, take ownership of areas of the SDLC, and work as part of a highly collaborative team. This position is full-time and provides competitive salary and benefits.

Position Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Thought Leadership, Ownership, Process development, and Management of key sections of the software development lifecycle including QA, release management, and software operations

Testing

  • Quality assurance at unit, integration, systems, data, and user levels
  • Tooling and processes to improve testing workflows

Development Operations

  • Understanding and participation in all aspects of the software development lifecycle
  • Implement controlled GIT merging processes
  • Contribute to requirements for pull requests and feature documentation

Release Management

  • Enhance release pipeline and processes through QA, Staging, and Production environments using enhanced automation
  • Create complete link from initial request made for feature/bug report to code to release to notification system
  • Auto notification of production releases to stakeholders and interested parties

Operation

  • Owns software after release to prevent as much developer distraction as possible
  • Manage application configuration files for deployment, environment changes, and small fixes
  • Monitor development and production endpoints during application issues and post deployment
  • Coordinate data fixes for development and production databases
  • Query data for users/clients for non standard reporting purposes
  • Administration of tools used for application security compliance

Solution Training and Support

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience working within a software product development field
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Experience leading quality assurance and/or software operations team
  • Hands-on experience with deployment tools
  • Knowledge of security best practices. Healthcare data policy knowledge preferred
  • Excellent computer, organization, and communication skills.
  • Experience in AWS or Cloud environments
